BRIEF ON ROLE OF AAMS INFORMATION AND RUNNING OF RTS

Ahmedabad Andhra Maha Sabha (AAMS) contributed immensely for establishing Rashtretara Telugu Samakhya (RTS), a National organisation, in 2015. It is an association of Telugu cultural organizations working at various locations in India outside the Telugu states. It was formed to bring Telugu people together in protecting and developing mother tongue, culture and arts. It supports, coordinates, supplements and compliments Telugu associations and provides national platform for all Telugu artists.

AAMS members travelled extensively to various states and played key role in formation of RTS and in working out the constitution. AAMS hosted the inaugural conference on 27 th and 28 th June 2015 in Ahmedabad. The meeting was a grand success with participation of 1000 delegates from 18 states of India including 200 artists and 100 writers and dignitaries from AP and Telangana. AAMS became patron association of RTS by providing seed money and technical manpower. AAMS also sponsors Annual RTS Telugu Ratna National award.

AAMS helped RTS in organising 7 national events in different parts of India and more than 100 online competitions and conferences hosting large number of discussions and reviews on the related topics. The online programmes attracted participation by large number of Telugu associations from abroad also. RTS became an important destination for the artists of the Telugu states also to present their talent. Today, RTS has emerged as meeting node for about hundred Rashtretara Telugu associations.
